점령유럽의 주요 게토들.

제2차 세계대전 기간 동안 독일은 주로 동부 유럽(1939년부터 1942년까지)과 헝가리(1944년)에 게토를 설립하였다. 게토란 도시의 제한된 구역으로서 독일인들은 유태인들을 이곳의 비참한 환경에서 살게 하였다. 독일은 유태인 게토의 설립을 유태인 관리, 소외, 격리의 수단으로 간주하였다. 1942년 초반, 유태인들을 전부 죽이기로 결정한 후 독일은 체계적으로 게토를 폐쇄하고 유태인들을 집단 학살 수용소로 보내어 학살하였다.
