Postwar photograph of David Bayer in Panama, circa 1950-1955. 

David was born on September 27, 1922 in Kozienice, Poland. He survived the Kozienice ghetto, Pionki labor camp, and Auschwitz-Birkenau. After the end of the war, David moved to Panama. He left for a few years to fight in Israel's War for Independence. From 1950-1955, David lived in Panama until he immigrated to the United States. 

David Bayer was a volunteer at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
