Gina Rappaport stands next to an American tank after liberation.

Gina Rappaport (later Leitersdorf) stands next to an American tank in Farsleben, Germany, on April 13, 1945. Gina and other prisoners were liberated from a Nazi train transport from Bergen-Belsen by the US 743rd Tank Battalion and the 30th Infantry Division. She was fluent in several languages and translated for the American troops and other survivors on the train.
