Three flags part to reveal a looming figure who looks like a caricature of a Jewish man wearing dark clothes, a bowler hat, and a pocket chain with a six-pointed star, the Star of David, hanging from it. The British and American flags are to the left of the figure with the flag of the Soviet Union on the right. German text in the lower left corner reads ‘der Jude’ in a large, bright, underlined script.

Nazi anti-Jewish propaganda

Nazi propaganda often portrayed Jews as engaged in a conspiracy to provoke war. Here, a stereotyped Jew conspires behind the scenes to control the Allied powers, represented by the British, American, and Soviet flags. The caption reads, "Behind the enemy powers: the Jew." Circa 1942.
