During the Holocaust (1933–1945), the Nazis used poisonous gas to murder millions of victims, including Jews, people with disabilities, Roma (“Gypsies”), and Soviet prisoners of war (POW). Converted gas vans or stationary gas chambers were used across six killing facilities in the Euthanasia Program, by mobile killing squads, at concentration camps, and at the five major killing centers.
