Letter to the commandant of Flossenbürg inquiring about Josef Kohout

A letter to the commandant of the Flossenbürg concentration camp, dated December 28, 1943. The letter is signed by Amalia and Josef Kohout. It asks the commandant for permission to visit their son, also named Josef Kohout, a gay man imprisoned in the camp. Josef (the son) had been imprisoned in Flossenbürg since 1940. During his imprisonment, his parents repeatedly inquired about him. After his father died in 1942, Josef's mother continued to sign both of their names to the letters.

The back of this letter includes a response from Flossenbürg authorities. The request to visit was denied.
