Containers of Zyklon B found at the Lublin concentration camp (called Majdanek) after Soviet forces liberated the camp in late July 1944.
Zyklon B was the brand name of a pesticide and disinfectant. It was produced as pellets infused with hydrogen cyanide, a poisonous gas. When these pellets were exposed to air, the hydrogen cyanide was released. Zyklon B was one of the poisonous gasses that the Nazis used to murder Jews and others in gas chambers.
