A "letter of protection" issued for a Jewish man named Dr. Miklós Hreblay on behalf of the Spanish Embassy in Budapest, dated November 1, 1944. The letter bears the stamp of the Spanish legation and indicates that Dr. Hreblay is under the protection of Spain.
Between June and December 1944, the diplomat Ángel Sanz Briz issued Spanish passports and letters of protection to Jews in Hungary. He was later recognized as Righteous Among the Nations for his rescue efforts.
