برتولت برشت، نویسنده‌ی "اپرای سه پولی" و شاعر و نمایشنامه‌نویس مشهور چپ گرا، که در سال ۱۹۳۳ از آلمان مهاجرت کرد. او در تبعید، یکی از سردبیران مجله‌ی ضد نازی به نام "Das Wort" (کلام) بود. لندن، بریتانیای کبیر، ۱۹۳۶.
