Les autorités japonaises délivrèrent ce "Permis de séjour au Japon" à Ruth Segal (Rys Berkowicz). Après plusieurs tentatives infructueuses pour obtenir des visas pour les Etats-Unis, le père de Ruth put obtenir pour elle un visa pour aller en Nouvelle-Zélande, dans le Commonwealth britannique de Nations.
