Auschwitz (the German name for the Polish city Oświęcim) is perhaps the most well-known Nazi camp complex. There were many camps attached to Auschwitz, including the Auschwitz I concentration camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau killing center, Auschwitz III concentration camp, and numerous subcamps in the surrounding region.
