After the Axis powers invaded Yugoslavia on April 6, 1941, the Croatian fascist organization Ustaša proclaimed an “Independent State of Croatia.” Learn more about Croatia during the Holocaust, including the massacre of ethnic Serbs (1941-1942); the murder, incarceration, and deportation of Jews; and the near elimination of the Roma population of Croatia.
