10 mai 1933New YorkLe Congrès juif américain s'avéra l'un des premiers groupes à s'opposer au nazisme aux États-Unis. Il organisa un gigantesque rassemblement dès mars 1933, peu après l'arrivée au pouvoir d'Hitler en Allemagne, et ne cessa d'en organiser d'autres au fil des années de guerre. Le Congrès juif américain organisa cette manifestation antinazie dans le sud de Manhattan. L'événement coïncida avec l'autodafé allemand.
