Insigne de la 45e division d'infanterie. La 45e division d'infanterie hérita son surnom, division « Thunderbird » (Oiseau-Tonnerre), de l'oiseau-tonnerre doré. Ce symbole amérindien devint l'insigne de la division en 1939. Il remplaçait un autre symbole amérindien, une croix gammée, retirée en raison de son étroite association avec le Parti nazi.
