바르샤바 게토를 연결하는 다리는 유태인들이 게토 외부 지역으로 나가는 것을 방지하는 역할을 하였다. 게토가 봉쇄되기 전에는 입구와 출구에 검문소가 있었다. 게토가 설립된 후 처음 몇 개월간 게토의 생활은 정상적인 것처럼 돌아갔다. 그러나 얼마 지나지 않아 음식이 부족해지고 주거 환경이 열악해지기 시작했다.
