뮌헨 협정과 수덴텐랜드의 체코 사람들이 독일에 항복한 후, 독일 당국은 이곳의 포호렐리의 유태인 주민들을 수덴텐랜드에서 체코슬로바키아로 추방하였다. 유태인들의 대거 이주를 우려한 체코 정부는 이들의 유입을 거부하였다. 그리하여 유태인 난민들은 체코와 독일의 접경 지역인 브루노와 브라티슬라바 사이의 무인 지대에서 지낼 수 밖에 없게 되었다.
