Environ un million de Tsiganes vivaient en Europe avant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. La plus importante communauté tsigane - environ 300 000 personnes - se trouvait en Roumanie. Ce film montre une communauté tsigane à Moreni, petite ville au nord-ouest de Bucarest. De nombreux Tsiganes menaient une vie nomade et travaillaient comme petits commerçants, artisans, ouvriers agricoles et musiciens.
