Im April 1947 fing die britische Marine das Schiff Theodor Herzl ab. Es befand sich auf dem Weg von Europa in das von den Briten kontrollierte Mandatsgebiet Palästina. An Bord befanden sich Hunderte Überlebende des Holocaust auf der Suche nach einer neuen Heimat, darunter auch Kinder.
